Whether you are an inpatient, day case patient or outpatient, you will be cared for by a team of professionals:
- The Consultant who arranged your admission will be in charge of your care and is responsible for keeping you fully informed of all treatments and clinical procedures.
- The clinical and nursing care is managed by the Chief Nursing Officer and a team of senior nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- The nursing care on the wards and in each department is led by a Senior Nurse Manager and a team of experienced Registered Nurses. Healthcare Assistants and ancillary staff are trained to an exceptionally high level to assist with care.
In addition to this, we have a Senior Nurse Manager, who is on duty 24 hours a day, and is responsible for the organisational management of the hospital. The Senior Nurse Manager is always available to address clinical and management issues; they can be contacted by using the bleep system.

Resident Medical Officers (fully-qualified doctors) are available on-site, 24 hours a day, as are our team of Consultant Intensivists, who specialise in critical care (ITU/HDU).
A comprehensive Hotel Services team, including caterers, porters, and front of house staff, provide a high standard of support throughout a patient’s stay.
Clinical Nurse Specialists
At London Bridge Hospital, we have a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, who have been trained to the highest standard in their field of clinical expertise. They work with the rest of the nursing team to advance their skills, improve overall outcomes and improve care.
A Clinical Nurse Specialist will develop a one-to-one relationship with a patient and their families and, as the main point of contact, will help to navigate a seamless patient journey from diagnosis through to treatment and rehabilitation.
Other roles performed by our Clinical Nurse Specialists include clinical practice, teaching, research, consulting, management and health promotion. The primary goal of a Clinical Nurse Specialist is the continuous improvement of patient outcomes and nursing care.
London Bridge Hospital participates in a rigorous quality programme to ensure a high level of Clinical Governance. This programme includes an audit of clinical outcomes and submission of data to national databases. This allows comparison of the hospital’s results with other healthcare facilities, both independent and NHS.
Responsibility for clinical governance lies with our Chief Nursing Officer, our Director of Clinical Standards (a Consultant Physician) and our dedicated Clinical Governance Manager.

Staff Training and Professional Development
All clinical staff are professionally registered and undertake regular training, including basic and advanced life support, infection control, health and safety and customer care. In addition, staff undertake numerous post-graduate educational courses to ensure that patients benefit from the most latest advances in clinical care.
