Alex Nieper came to the UK after completion of his medical studies in Germany, 1996. He then trained as a GP in Sheffield and began to work with the Sheffield Eagles rugby team in 2000 and travelled with the GB hockey team to international tournaments.
After moving to London in 2001 he completed the Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine and was appointed as Club doctor at Fulham FC and Sports Physician with UK Athletics. He was involved at all level Track & Field Championships including European, World and Olympic Games. In 2005 he started to work as Club doctor for Chelsea FC and travelled to all major domestic and European competitions.
His main interests are prevention and rehabilitation of muscle, tendon and spinal injuries and its treatment with injection therapy.
Alex Nieper is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine (UK) for which he is an examiner and appraiser.
