Dr Baron has been part of The Dept of Trauma & Orthopaedics at King’s College Hospital since 2005 and had on-field experience as Team Physician Millwall FC 1985-94, England u18 SFA 1993-98 and Blackheath Rugby Club 1995-04. He is Sports Physician to English National Ballet. 

He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA), Gesellschaft für Orthopadisch-Traumatologische Sportmedizin (GOTS Germany) and Société Françoise d’arthroscopie (SFA). His post-graduate training in USA and Europe includes regular attendances at leading Sports Orthopaedic Congresses and he has contacts world-wide. He has presented research papers including an award on PCL injury in Madrid 2004 and part of Faculty of the Sports Medicine Review Course at ESSKA Congress in Amsterdam 2014 including instructional course lecture. 

He has a special interest in knee injuries and has used the KT1000 arthrometer in the assessment of knee cruciate ligament injuries since 1992. He works closely with knee orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists and many consultant colleagues in the various Medical and Surgical Specialties. He teaches at all levels of Medical Training.

He is sport-active and keeps fit as a distance runner to marathon level and advanced skier. He played soccer and tennis.

Special interests

Knee arthrometry for cruciate ligament injuries and ultrasound-guided injections. Whole range of sports injuries and adopting the BCPE (best clinical practice in Europe) philosophy. Additional interest in paediatric and youth injuries (NHS)
