Dr John Lanham
Dr Lanham has been a consultant rheumatologist and physician at Whipps Cross Univeristy Hospital for thirty years. He trained at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School with Professor Hughes before being appointed as a consultant in 1985. He established a Connective Tissue Disease Clinic at St Bartholomew's Hospital and has had a special interest in lupus and associated conditions throughout his career. In addition he has had a very busy general rheumatology practice. He has always played an active role in medical education and taught generations of junior doctors and medical students. Throughout his career he has lectured and engaged in clinical research and has published many papers on a diverse range of subjects.
His special interests are lupus and the other connective tissue diseases, general rheumatology, including rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory arthropathies, fibromyalgia and soft tissue conditions. He takes a holistic approach to multiple medical problems.
