| Profile | Dr Mel Lobo trained and qualified at Manchester Medical School in 1989. He subsequently trained in Cardiovascular Medicine, General Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics in King’s College and University College Hospitals (London) where he undertook a PhD in vascular biology funded by a prestigious British Heart Foundation Fellowship.
He completed his training at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals and has continued to work there as a consultant since 2003.
Currently he is the Lead Clinician for Clinical Pharmacology and also for the Cardiovascular Medicine firm. He is actively involved in (acute, unselected) general medical takes.
Dr Lobo is currently the Training Programme Director for Clinical Pharmacology in London Deanery and is Chairman of the Trust News Drugs and North East London Clinical Governance and Guidelines Groups.
