    Dr Rose is a Consultant Neurologist seeing all cases of general neurology with an interest in headaches, blackouts and unexplained neurological symptoms. He is a sub-specialist in muscle disease and myasthenia.

    He became a Consultant in neurology at King’s College Hospital and at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich in 1996. Dr Rose did his neurology training at Atkinson Morley’s Hospital, the National Hospitals for Neurology, Queen Square, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. He was a Medical Research Council research fellow investigating mitochondrial muscle disease and spent a year in Rochester, New York gaining further specialist training in muscle disease.

    At Queen Elizabeth Hospital Dr Rose runs several general neurology clinics seeing all neurology cases including headaches, strokes, dizziness, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. He established a successful First Seizure clinic at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Dr Rose helped to establish a nationally respected regional muscle disease clinic service at King’s College Hospital where he see’s patients with both suspected and proven muscle disease and and myasthenis as well as peripheral nerve and motor neurone diseases.

    Dr Rose is a co-editor of the Neuromuscular Diseases Cochrane Review Group. He was an active partner in the TREAT-NMD network and is a member of the European Neuromuscular Centre research committee. He was a founder member of the Muscle Study Group based in the USA. He has published papers, book chapters, and books on neurology and muscle disease. He continues his research in muscle disease with a particular interest in clinical trials and quality of life issues.
