  Dr Paresh Mehta is a senior consultant cardiologist working at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS hospitals and St Thomas’ NHS Hospital in London.
  He trained in general internal medicine in North-west London and achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2002 before completing a 3-year period of research, in the field of heart failure, at Imperial College London and The Royal Brompton Hospital, and was awarded a Medical Doctorate (MD) by the University of London.
  He completed specialist clinical training in cardiology and heart failure at Harefield, Royal Brompton and St Thomas' Hospitals and was appointed as consultant in 2011. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2015.
  He works as a full time consultant cardiologist with expertise in all aspects of general cardiology clinic including arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, syncope and valve disease . He has a specialist interest in heart failure, cardiomyopathy and heart rhythm device therapy including implantation of implantable heart rhythm monitors, pacemakers, defibrillators and biventricular pacemaker devices.
  Dr Mehta continues to have active research interests in the field of heart failure, arrhythmia and heart rhythm device therapy.He also participates in regular teaching of junior hospital doctors, general practitioners and medical students.
