Dr Shoaib Hamid
Dr Hamid is a Consultant Cardiologist managing cardiovascular disease including ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias and heart failure.
He qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London and completed his cardiology specialty training in London. He is a Consultant Cardiologist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
His specialist interest is in heart rhythm disorders including the investigation and management of palpitations, dizzy spells and blackouts. This includes patient assessment for and implantation of pacemakers (bradycardias and heart failure) and defibrillators (ICD’s) for ventricular arrhythmias. He has achieved certification from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist.
Dr Hamid was awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship and studied inherited heart conditions causing cardiomyopathies and sudden cardiac death towards his MD. He has published and presented research at national and international meetings on cardiomyopathies, pacemakers and cardiac resynchronisation therapy.
