Mr Darakhshan is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon specialising in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pelvic Floor disorders, with an expertise in Laparoscopic Surgery, reflecting his sub-specialty work at Guy’s and St Thomas' Hospitals.

Graduating from King’s College Hospital London, he received his surgical training in London and the South East of England, with specialist colorectal training in Sydney, St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and St Mark’s Hospital in London, where he developed his interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Pelvic Floor disorders and Laparoscopic surgery.

Awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2008, his thesis and main research at the Royal London Hospital looked at the use of the Gracilis Neosphincter in the treatment of incontinence. He has published on general surgical, colorectal and Pelvic Floor disorders.

Mr Darakhshan treats most colorectal and general surgical disorders including: endoscopy, colonoscopy, rectal bleed, anal fissures, haemorrhoids, pilonidal sinus disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colorectal Cancer, open and laparoscopic hernia repairs, bowel dysmotility, rectal evacuatory dysfunction and incontinence, Sacral Nerve Stimulation, STARR procedure, posterior and ventral rectopexy and enterocoele repairs.
