Mr Frank Lawton
Frank Lawton graduated from the Victoria University of Manchester Medical School in 1977 and underwent postgraduate training gaining his MRCOG in 1982. He subsequently was awarded a Cancer Research Campaign Fellowship in Gynaecologcial Oncology in Birmingham, obtaining his MD in 1987. He was awarded FRCOG in 1995.
He spent a year as Visiting Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology at The Royal Womens Hospital in Sydney Australia before returning to the UK as Consultant Gynaecologist/Gynaecological Oncologist at Kings College Hospital, London and subsequently at The SE London Gynaecological Cancer Centre at St Thomas' Hospital.
He has edited three textbooks on gynaecological cancer, is the author of over 100 papers and book chapters, and has presented papers widely at national and international medical meetings. He has been pivotal in the training of seven Fellows in gynaecological Oncology all of whom have gone on to be appointed Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists and a further five who have been appointed with as lead consultants in gynaecological oncology.
Mr Lawton's main interests are in gynaecological cancers and precancers, ovarian cancer screening, colposcopy and cervical screening and vulval abnormalities/disorders.
