Mr Haresh Devalia is a fully accredited breast and oncoplastic surgeon and is on the General Medical Council's (GMC) Specialist Register. After many years of evidence-based practice in the treatment of breast cancer as well as cosmetic breast surgery, Mr Devalia brought the advanced technique of local perforator-based flap surgery (LICAP, MICAP) to the people of Kent and London.

This technique allows breast conservation even for large cancers, for which the only option would have been mastectomy and complex breast reconstruction with a long recovery. LICAP and MICAP allow patients to avoid mastectomy, retain normal breast tissue, and offer quick recovery with a minimal hospital stay. In addition to breast cancer work, Mr Devalia takes pride in revising complex breast cosmetic procedures and enhancing aesthetic breast appearance.

He commenced his higher surgical training in Oxford Deanery and continued as a specialist registrar in the London Deanery. He trained at various hospitals including St Georges Hospital (London), Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital (Chertsey), and the Royal Surrey County Hospital (Guildford), and worked as a senior registrar in the oncoplastic breast unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital (Sutton).

After the completion of his training, he was appointed as a Locum Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital before his substantive appointment at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust as the Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon.

Mr Devalia has published as senior author in medical journals on clinical management of breast cancer and techniques. And in recognition of his exemplary work, he has won the award of 'Best Oncoplastic and Aesthetic Breast Surgeons - England' and was certified as ‘Best Student at National Level in General Surgery’ (August 1997) and was awarded a Gold Medal in the final examination for the Diploma of National Board, India.
