Profile

Mr Loïc Lang-Lazdunski qualified in 1991 and trained in cardiothoracic surgery in Paris.
He was awarded an MD in 1996 and a PhD in 2000 following a research fellowship at Harvard / Massachusetts General Hospital.

 

He was appointed Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Paris University in 1998 and consultant thoracic surgeon in 2000.
He was appointed consultant thoracic surgeon at Guy’s & St Thomas’ hospital in 2003.

 

He has led the mesothelioma program at Guy’s since 2003 and has developed a program in minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer and mediastinal tumours.
He is involved in clinical and basic research in the field of lung cancer and mesothelioma.

 

He has published more than 100 scientific articles and has made many presentations at national and international meetings.
He has received several awards for his research achievements and he is a laureate of the French National Academy of Medicine.
