| Profile | Steve Corbett qualified from St Thomas' Hospital, London in 1990. During his surgical training, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for his work on fracture healing. He also undertook a Travelling Orthopaedic Fellowship in Annecy, France.
In 2003, he was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, Guys and St Thomas Hospitals, London, specialising in Upper Limb Surgery.
He is now regularly convenes and is a faculty member at International and National Shoulder and Elbow meetings, teaching surgical techniques both in the UK and abroad.
Over the past few years his practice has grown, such that he now regularly treats, and provides expert opinion on elite professional sportsmen in a variety of sporting fields, including cricket, football, rugby and athletics. He was named in separate articles by GQ and Tatler magazines, citing UK top medical specialists.
He is a named reviewer for several medical journals, including the International Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons, the British Medical Journal, and Grays Anatomy. He is also co author and a contributor to leading medical textbooks.
He has appeared on TV demonstrating upper limb surgery, including live surgical procedures.
His research interests include clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular joint injuries, shoulder dislocation, rotator cuff tears and the treatment of ‘tennis elbow’.
He is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, the British Orthopaedic Research Society and the British Orthopaedic Society. |
