Infection Control

Infection control

All of our inpatients are nursed in single occupancy, en suite rooms, to reduce the risk of infection. Our infection rates are extremely low – this is something we are very proud of and make every effort to maintain.

We encourage all of our patients to attend the facility for pre-admission screening to ensure that MRSA is kept out of our hospital. If a patient is found to be a carrier of MRSA, we take all possible precautions to ensure the risks to them and other patients are minimised by implementing strict precautions. We undertake an extensive in-house audit programme to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and safety standards are met and maintained.

We are proud to have maintained exceptionally low infection rates at London Bridge Hospital in 2015, including the following:

  • No patients acquired MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) at London Bridge Hospital in 2015.
  • 0.04% of patients acquired MSSA (Methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus) at London Bridge Hospital in 2015.
  • No patients acquired E.coli (Escherichia coli) at London Bridge Hospital in 2015.
