Expansion within Cardiology and The Cardiopulmonary Centre

date: 30 September 2009

The Cardiology Department and Cardiopulmonary Centre at the London Bridge Hospital have recently completed a major expansion and renovation project. The ‘Pacemaker/ICD and Resynchronisation Room’ has been refurbished to provide clear workspaces for our new computerised patient records system and home monitoring remote patient data access system. This room is also available to device-implanting Consultant Cardiologists for patient consultations.

The ‘Cardiology Reporting Room’ has also been extensively refurbished to include an extensive new desktop computer system of 12 units. This extra analysis space now allows rapid reporting of electrocardiograms, 24 hour Holter monitor tests, sleep studies and blood pressure analysis.

Furthermore The Cardiopulmonary Centre has been expanded with the addition of a second dedicated assessment room.  This will allow simultaneous lung function and cardiopulmonary testing with the addition of extra space for our rapidly-expanding sleep study testing and analysis. This new assessment room has been fitted with £100,000 of new Viasys cardiorespiratory testing equipment, with electronic linking and presentation of results for referring doctors.

For more information on the changes within these departments, referring patients, or how we can meet your clinical demands, please call either the Cardiology Administrators or
Mark Roach, Deputy Manager of Cardiology and Manager of The Cardiopulmonary Centre on 020 7234 2265.
