Implantable Loop Recorder

On Thursday the 4th February 2016 I was attending the hospital to have an Implantable Loop Recorder inserted and cardiology testing with my consultant Dr Nicholas Gall. After my procedure I was waiting in the cath lab waiting to be taken up to my room when I started to feel unwell and I fainted. This was a very scary experience for me but the response that I received from your staff was exceptional. The staff were extremely caring and compassionate and continued to check how I was feeling and offered me reassurance. I felt like I was in extremely capable hands and felt immediately relaxed knowing that the staff genuinely cared about my wellbeing. They did not treat me like I was “just another patient” and offered me personalised care. Other staff who were called to respond from another room, despite not being directly involved in my care previously, looked after me extremely well and ensured that I was feeling ok before they returned to what they were previously doing.

During my procedure there was a member of staff called Jarrad who was involved in the procedure and testing and he was extremely knowledgeable, kind and caring. He looked after me extremely well throughout the procedure and afterwards when I was feeling unwell. He made me feel very safe throughout the whole time when I was in the cath lab.

Whilst I was on the ward I was being looked after on the 5th floor by a nurse named Tracey. Tracey provided a fantastic standard of care and always made me feel at ease and kept me informed about what was happening. She was extremely compassionate and was very friendly which made my stay much more enjoyable.

I am under the care of Dr Nicholas Gall. I travel from the North East of England to see Dr Gall because the standard of care that he provides is exceptional and worth travelling for. Dr Gall had left to go to his clinic after my procedure, then when I fainted he came back to see me to ensure that I was ok. Throughout the day he came to see me a few more times to see how I was feeling, despite him being really busy. Dr Gall is extremely knowledgeable, kind and compassionate, he listens to how I am feeling and makes me feel that my concerns are important and does not just brush me off. He is extremely thorough with his testing and treatment and I have not met a doctor who is as good as he is.

His secretary Lynn Nineberg goes the extra mile when trying to fit me in when I am coming to London for my appointments and ensures that all my testing and consultations fit with my travel plans to ensure that I do not miss my train back home. She is extremely helpful and makes my trip to London so much easier.

I have never been to a hospital that has such a high standard of care. I would like to say an extra big thank you to all the staff involved with my care at London Bridge Hospital.
