Rapid-access

Chest Pain Clinic

in the Heart of Kent

Sevenoaks Medical Centre, one of London Bridge Hospital’s Outpatient Diagnostic

and Treatment Centres, has launched a unique clinic designed specifically to deal

with chest pain of recent onset.

The Centre already provides a full range of cardiovascular testing, including ECG

and echocardiography and ambulatory ECG monitoring, with the Chest Pain Clinic

increasing the number of services available. Guided by the unparalleled cardiology

expertise of Dr Richard Cooke and Dr Khaled Alfakih, the Clinic will allow patients

in the Kent area to receive the best possible care, without the need to travel into

central London.

All patients visiting the Chest Pain Clinic will be seen and assessed on the same day

by Dr Cooke or Dr Alfakih, who will carry out an ECG and the necessary blood

tests to provide rapid diagnosis. Depending on the outcome, appropriate referrals

will be made. In some cases, this may be urgent outpatient investigations or hospital

admittance; whilst for other non-cardiac conditions, referrals to other specialists will

be arranged.

Please note, this not an emergency Chest Pain Clinic

. Patients who are either

in pain or have had pain within the previous 12 hours should be sent for direct

admission to hospital.
